That's what I was thinking but wasn't quite brave enough to say it.
He is so much better further up the field and drifting into space (and Man Utd sure left plenty of that), killer pass too.
Pirlo was also pretty slow but never stopped moving a bit like Noble.

He was so good that I had to stand-up and applaud him when he got the man of the match award, which is tutted by some wankers in the posh seats.

The current midfield set-up and formation really suits his game. Long may it continue.

Great performance. Dare I say he was Pirlo-esque today.

Noble is at last coming into his own with the likes of Rice , Balbuena and Diop around. He is a team player who is a future West Ham manager.

Re: Mark Noble was great today
The thing with Noble is he has never been a natural defensive midfielder. Nor is he an attacking midfielder - he has always been somewhere in-between. His best games for us have always been slightly advanced of defensive midfield - closing down opposition players and laying the ball off for others. Due to circumstances he has rarely played there and has nearly always played far too deep.

I was a bit worried but I think our manager has managed to work this out after just 4 matches. We knew this already but I guess he had to see it for himself.

Hence the 3 man midfield with the spare man closing down space between the lines.

It bodes well...phew!

This is going to really upset Fordstar.

Noble has more decent games than than some make decent posts on here.

Today he was better than decent. Whereas his detractors just look wrong.

Re: Mark Noble was great today
Was the best player on the pitch and dominated the game, if you’d never watched the prem and somebody told you there was a 100million pound player in the middle of the park you would definitely thought it was him
Always seems to up his game when he has good players around him and if you don’t think having one of your own as skipper makes a massive difference you probably should be following a different club

Even your bile here is not well directed. He’s played very well in the past three games since we settled on a side and formation. He also played very well as we closed out the season last year.

Yep, the fan-grabbing cunt had his best game for ages. 1 game in 30, glad it came in a big match.

fordstar has been discharged from an addiction clinic and is living in the Amazonian jungle without modern communication devices.

He is under strict instruction to avoid learning the local languages in case someone wants to talk to him about Mark Noble and causes a relapse.

Re: Mark Noble was great today
Today’s performance was like watching him in our last season at Upton Park, like against the Yids etc, love those turns he does, reminds me of Scott Parker. He doesn’t seem to of aged a day in the last 6 years either.

Simply one of the best performances I've seen from him. Got all over the pitch, won the ball, good intelligent attacking passing with an urgency to it. Just superb.

Re: Mark Noble was great today
Some cunt on Twitter that Man U played so badly they made Mark Noble look like Riquelme.
Pelegrini knows what he can do and what he brings as a player and a Captain and Noble has certainly justified the Managers faith in him.

One day, his legs will have gone.

You won't catch me saying they have before then.

I doubt I'll be saying this season, and next seems unlikely, too.

Anyone heard from Fordstar??

Best game he has had in years. Easily the best performance from him since we left Upton Park. Deserved his Man of the Match award today.

Capitol Man 6:34 Sat Sep 29
Re: Mark Noble was great today
I think the point with Noble is that he is at the heart of everything we do and has been for years. When we play well it’s invariably him that shines, when we play badly he gets exposed as doing so at he still touches the ball and tackles more than anyone else on the pitch.
